Postdoc Position in Growth and Metabolic Signaling at Rutgers University
Postdoctoral opportunity available to study cell signaling that controls growth and metabolism, and the role in cancer and other human diseases. Through genetic and genomic approaches using yeast as a model organism, we have identified a large number of novel genes in the mTOR pathway. Current efforts are directed at understanding their functions in normal physiology and diseases (e.g. cancer, diabetes and neurological disorders) in cells, genetically engineered mice and patient samples. We are also interested in how aberrant oncogenic alterations influence therapeutic outcome. Rutgers University is conveniently located in the New York City metro area. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a recent PhD degree in molecular cellular biology, cancer biology, neurobiology or other related biological sciences. Individuals with experience with genetically engineered mouse models are especially encouraged.
