Assistant/Associate/Professor, Bioinformatics and Genomics

The Department of Bioinformatics and Genomics, part of the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track or tenured, 9-month faculty position that will begin fall 2020. Applicants for this position must hold a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or a related discipline and should demonstrate excellence in research via a strong publication record and the potential to secure funding, as well as a commitment to education and teaching.

The successful candidate will set up his/her lab at the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) and is expected to develop and maintain an externally-funded bioinformatics research program.

Example research areas include but are not limited to: human or model organism genomics, precision medicine, statistical genetics, cloud computing approaches in bioinformatics, computational plant genetics, microbiome analysis, or computational/theoretical ecology. Preference will be given to candidates whose research aligns with the NCRC mission to advance human health and nutrition and who demonstrate potential for collaborating with other researchers at the NCRC. Applications that demonstrate experience with or an interest in promoting diversity through their research and teaching are especially encouraged.
