FACULTY POSITION IN BIOENGINEERING AT UC BERKELEY
The Department of Bioengineering in the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level, with an expected start date of July 1, 2020. The department is particularly interested in recruiting exceptional candidates at the interface of immunoengineering and tissue engineering. Topic areas may include, but are not limited to: the use of quantitative engineering approaches to understand and manipulate immunological interactions; creation of immunoengineered therapies and tissue regeneration strategies; development of biomaterial strategies to induce or attenuate immune and/or inflammatory responses; engineering of vaccines and gene delivery technologies; antibody and T cell engineering.

The UC Berkeley Department of Bioengineering is at the forefront of integrating engineering and biological sciences to discover fundamental principles of biological systems, and applying this understanding to a variety of applications that impact the health of humans in their diverse environments. The Bioengineering Department has strong ties with other UC Berkeley departments in engineering, biological sciences, and chemistry, as well as with the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Our interdisciplinary program offers outstanding opportunities for collaboration with distinguished researchers at UC Berkeley, UCSF, the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and within the greater Bay Area biotechnology community. This exceptional environment for teaching and research will provide the successful candidate with unique opportunities for intellectual and technological leadership.
