Microbial Infection Faculty Position

NYU Langone Health

The Department of Microbiology at NYU Langone Health invites applications for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of Microbial Infection. We seek applicants with a Ph.D., M.D. or M.D. and Ph.D. degree and an exceptional record of achievement to join our interdisciplinary research team, which is comprised of faculty with expertise in bacteriology, immunology, parasitology, and virology (https://med.nyu.edu/departments-institutes/microbiology/faculty). The candidate’s research interests should synergize with the highly collaborative environment within the NYU research community.  We are especially interested in applicants who study aspects of antibiotic resistant organisms, innate immunity to microbes or use of genomic tools in microbial analyses.

New faculty members will be supported with generous start-up packages, excellent laboratory space, access to laboratory animal facilities (including germ-free and ABSL3), an insectary, and a wide range of state-of-the-art core facilities providing services in genomics, proteomics, high throughput biology, bioinformatics, cell imaging, flow cytometry, and pathology. Successful candidates are expected to initiate and maintain a vigorous, independent, extramurally funded research program, participate in the NYU School of Medicine graduate programs within the Sackler Institute and be eligible for membership in NIH-supported training programs designed to support pre- and post-doctoral trainees.

For consideration, please submit the following items to http://apply.interfolio.com/65026 1) Cover letter; 2) Curriculum Vitae; 3) Research Statement; 4) Research Plan; 5) Up to two key recent publications; 6) Names and contact info for three references. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the search is closed on December 1, 2019.

Founded in 1841 and located in the heart of New York City, with its vibrant biomedical research community and unsurpassed cultural opportunities, NYU School of Medicine is an equal opportunity affirmative action employer. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
