Postdoctoral Fellow
Postdoctoral fellow position is available in Dr. Ashok Kumar’s laboratory in the Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the University of Houston, Houston, TX. Our research work is focused towards investigating the molecular and signaling mechanisms that regulate muscle stem cell function, skeletal muscle mass, and pathophysiological mechanisms of muscular dystrophy. We employ genetic mouse models, morphometric assays, primary cell cultures, and biochemical, molecular, genomics, and proteomics approaches for our work. Potential candidates should have Ph.D. or M.D. degree and strong background in biochemistry and molecular biology techniques. Prior experience in skeletal and/or cardiac muscle physiology, cell signaling, viral vectors, primary cell culture, and flow cytometry is plus.
