Tumor Immunology

The Division of Microbiology and Immunology, of the Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, in partnership with Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI), is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in tumor immunology. Successful applicants will be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on the candidate’s background. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to establish an externally funded research program employing animal models and/or human systems that advance knowledge in the areas of adaptive and/or innate anti-tumor immunity, tumor-induced immune suppression, microbiota or other aspects of tumor immunology that have the potential to facilitate cancer immunotherapies. The primary criteria for selection will be excellence and creativity in research and scholarship. Successful candidates will be expected to establish a vigorous research program that fosters tumor immunotherapy activities in the Dept. of Pathology and at HCI. Ideal candidates will hold a MD, PhD, MD|PhD or DVM degree and have a prior record of successful research that supports the establishment of an independent research program that complements ongoing research at the institution.
