Assistant Professor in Organic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis invites applications for an assistant professor in the area of organic chemistry.

A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is required by the beginning of the 2020 Fall quarter. Candidates must possess or demonstrate the potential to achieve a strong record in the areas of research, teaching and service. The candidate must also possess the ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate level organic chemistry courses, and be strongly committed to providing service to the department, university, and chemistry communities.

The start date for this position is July 1, 2020. The position will remain open until filled but to assure full consideration, submit by October 15, 2019 a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a summary of previous research, a statement of teaching, a statement of contribution to diversity, and three letters of recommendation. In addition, each candidate should provide three original research proposals representative of the theme of their distinctive research program in organic chemistry. We encourage proposals in all aspects of organic chemistry including, but not limited to, organometallics, polymers, methodology development and natural products total synthesis.
