Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology

The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) at Yale University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with an anticipated start date in July 2020. The Department welcomes applications from candidates investigating any experimental system, from microbes to multicellular organisms. The broad research interests of the MCDB faculty include plant sciences, as well as neurobiology, computational biology, molecular and chemical biology, cellular and developmental biology, microbiology, genetics, and biotechnology. In early fall 2019, the department will be relocating to a new state-of-the-art research building with exceptional facilities for carrying out a wide range of experimental investigations. These include extensive plant growth rooms and a rooftop greenhouse, a vivarium, an insectary, aquatics facilities, a chemical synthesis suite, imaging and cryo-EM facilities, and other core support services.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., or equivalent degree at time of hire, in a relevant discipline and a record of outstanding research that demonstrates originality and self-motivation. The successful candidate is expected to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, and participate in interdisciplinary research and training. Excellent communication skills for research and teaching are necessary.
