The Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is seeking candidates for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level effective July 1, 2020. Applicants are expected to develop and lead a vibrant, independent research program and share our commitment to undergraduate and graduate education by teaching courses and supervising graduate and undergraduate research. We are particularly interested in candidates who will help promote and provide diversity.
The applicant's research program should involve, but is not limited to, the study of molecules, cells, organisms, and/or the interactions among them, using the tools of genetics, biochemistry, biophysics, cell and molecular biology, and/or computational biology.
Candidates must hold a PhD in the biological, chemical, physical, mathematical, or computational sciences, or in an engineering field; or an MD; or equivalent terminal degree.
Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a 3-4 page summary of current and proposed research, a statement of teaching interests, and arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent on their behalf.
