Multiple postdoctoral scholar and/or Specialist positions with competitive salaries and benefits are available in the Dr. Changcheng Zhou Lab at the University of California, Riverside. Zhou Lab has recently moved to UC, Riverside and current research projects investigate the molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and metabolic dysfunctions. Our laboratory mainly focuses on the role of NF-kB and nuclear receptor signaling in the pathogenesis of cardiometabolic disease including obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. In the past few years, the lab has published in J Exp Med, J Hepatol, JCI Insight, Diabetes, Stem Cells, ATVB, J Lipid Res, Environ Health Perspect, etc. For additional information about our research and recent publications, please visit our website: https://profiles.ucr.edu/changcheng.zhou

Small laboratory animal models, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques are the main research approaches for these studies. For postdoctoral positions, candidates should have a doctoral degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or related field, and strong background in cell culture, biochemical and molecular biology techniques and small animal model systems. We welcome and strongly support scientists with diverse backgrounds who are energetic and highly motivated for career advancement. Postdoctoral salary is commensurate upon qualifications and 2-step higher than NIH NRSA stipends. University of California also offers competitive salary and benefit for staff scientists.

UC Riverside has a vibrant research environment (including 2 Nobel Laureates and 14 National Academies members). Zhou Lab is housed in the state-of-the-art Multidisciplinary Research Building, UC Riverside's newest - and largest - research building. The campus is also located in a prime position close to other universities, research institutes, and biotech industries present in Southern California.

Riverside is a wonderful place to live, providing ample cultural and entertainment opportunities in a safe and comfortable community with affordable housing and living expenses. Riverside is about an hour away from ski slopes, surfing, or hiking in mountain. The city offers all the cultural advantages of any U.S. city, together with the amazing all-year- round weather of sunny Southern California.

Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in studying cardiovascular disease and lipid homeostasis. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential.
