Job Details

The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.

The primary purpose of the Data System Coordinator is to monitor Technology Commercialization Intellectual Property Management database. Key responsibilities are to update database with information as it becomes available, correct/modify inaccurate files and records, obtain, view and verify confidential information, handle numerical data accurately, verifying data by correctly checking and comparing source documents.

Salary range: $27,000 - $34,000 - $40,800

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Update Intellectual Property Management database

Gather documents and information. Update database with information as it becomes available. Correct/modify inaccurate files and records

Manage confidential information

Engage with stakeholders to request and/or provide confidential information. View and verify confidential information for correctness and completeness. Handle confidential information per the Institution policies.

Handle data accurately

Handle numerical data accurately, verifying data by correctly checking and comparing source documents. Communicate any discrepancies with the parties involved and take steps to correct them in a timely manner.

Must be able to work independently with large amounts of numerical and written data. Create and organize accurate spreadsheets with large amount of information. Summarize and compile data for standardized reports.

Education
Required: Associate's degree.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree.

Experience

Required: Three years experience in preparation of statistical packages, text and document processing. With preferred degree, one year experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
