Frontier Fellowship
Training the next generation of leaders in biomedical research
The Frontier Fellowship program supports outstanding biomedical researchers from around the world as they perform postdoctoral research in the areas of regenerative medicine, metabolism, and cancer. The Frontier Fellowship program is partnered with Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern (CRI) in Dallas, Texas. Recipients of the Frontier Fellowship can work in any CRI lab or combination of labs. The Frontier Fellowship program accepts applicants on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Eligibility
- Degree: The program is open to candidates who have completed, or are in the final stages of completing a Ph.D., or an M.D./Ph.D. Candidates must have received their degree no more than one year prior to submission of their application.
- First author paper: Applicants must have had at least one first author paper accepted for publication or published in a peer reviewed journal by the time of application.
- Nationality: The Frontier Fellowship is open to all nationalities. Candidates from any country may apply.
Fellows will be mentored by their principal investigator(s) as well as by a committee of other CRI faculty, particularly in research skills, formulation of scientific questions, grant writing, oral presentations, and writing skills.
Benefits
The Frontier Fellowship provides salary support for four years, funding to attend conferences, and a half-time technician in years 3 and 4. Each fellowship represents an approximately $400,000 commitment over 4 years. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement, and paid holiday, vacation and sick leave. Recipients of the fellowship will also be provided with up to $8,000 to cover actual relocation expenses.
