Postdoctoral Position in Genetic Mechanisms of Arrhythmia and Sudden Death

A postdoctoral position is available to study the genetics, molecular biology and physiology of sudden cardiac death, cardiac arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation as part of a strategically focused research networks supported by the American Heart Association.  Training will be carried out in a highly collaborative environment that integrates computational assessment/bioinformatics and modeling arrhythmia phenotypes in human cells.  The goals of the project include the identification of genetic signatures to help predict arrhythmia events and then determining useful biomarkers from human cell disease models.  Opportunities to expand research into other mechanisms are also available, including collaborative investigation receiving mentorship from more than one laboratory.     

Applicants should have a PhD and preferably be less than 3 years from their PhD.  Applicants with bioinformatics experience are encouraged.   The applicant should have a track record of first author publications and be able to design and conduct experiments, coordinate multiple projects, and work within a collaborative team.
