Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Scientist 

A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the area of natural product chemistry at the University of Florida.  Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary research team to identify bioactive small molecules using comparative metabolomics and NMR-based structure elucidation, to synthesize the small molecules, and to study their biosynthesis and biological activity.  A Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical biology, or a closely related field is required. The candidate should be eager to use chemistry expertise to solve biological problems and should have extensive training in the use of HPLC, LC/MS and NMR spectroscopy to identify natural products.  Preference will be given to applicants with some experience with bioassays.  The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to publish results and a willingness to collaborate with others.  Please send cover letter, CV, and references to Prof. Rebecca Butcher at butcher@chem.ufl.edu with “application for natural product chemist” in the subject line of the email.  Applications will be evaluated until the position is filled.
