Research Scientist II - Pediatric Infectious Diseases

A Research Scientist II position is available in Dr. Ravit Boger’s well-funded laboratory to study clinical, translational and basic science aspects of cytomegalovirus (CMV).

Candidate will work in vitro and in vivo model that innate immunity to CMV and antiviral drugs. A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Virology, Immunology or any relevant branch of biological sciences. Candidate will assist in training students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows in specific research protocols and will oversee daily operations of the laboratory. Preference will be given to individuals with research interest and experience with tissue culture and microbiology assays such as real time PCR, DNA extraction, cloning, Western blot, immunoprecipitation, and lentivirus generation. Experience working with mouse models, flow cytometry and sorting, familiarity with assays of immune cell function is a plus. Good written and verbal communication skills are highly appreciated.
