A postdoctoral position is available at the University of California, San Francisco to study the molecular genetic basis of behavioral variation.   The lab,, composed of four postdoctoral fellows, three graduate students, and two technical staffs, is a productive and nurturing environment for training and career development.  This project employs molecular genetic tools (e.g. genetic mapping, statistical analysis, scRNA-seq, CRISPR) in the vertebrate model organism zebrafish to dissect a heritable and naturally variable aversive behavior. The applicant should have a recent PhD or PhD/MD degree, be familiar with molecular genetics and behavioral phenotyping, and has high quality publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.
