Research Assistant Professor,

Department of Genetics (Division of Genomics)

A non-tenure track faculty position for a researcher in transition to independence is being offered, with a role directing our Computational Genomics Core Facility and establishing collaborations with other faculty while building their own research portfolio.

Collaboration will be encouraged with the Einstein-Montefiore community, the affiliated New York Genome Center, and the broader New York City research community.

The new faculty colleague will be expected to direct the activities of our Computational Genomics Core Facility, helping colleagues to design and execute projects so that they have the greatest chance of generating interpretable results.

A track record of collaboration with molecular biologists, biostatisticians or clinicians is desirable, and experience with high-throughput genomic data analysis. Areas of specialization may include but are not limited to genomics, epigenomics, or the genetics of complex diseases.

The investigator will be appointed to the Division of Genomics (with mentorship by Division Chief Dr. John Greally) within the Department of Genetics, with potential secondary appointment opportunities in other departments. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. Generous start-up funding and protected time for research will be provided.

Applicants should hold a doctoral-level degree in a related discipline.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is located in a residential area minutes from Westchester County and a short commute to Manhattan.

Applicants should send a CV, a description of proposed research goals and teaching interests and the names of three references in electronic format to: Ms. Amy Vargas, Department of Genetics, Price 422, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, 1301 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, New York 10461 at amy.vargas@einstein.yu.edu
