Post Doctoral Research Fellow, Department of Radiation Oncology, Laboratory of Dr. Chandan Guha
NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Chandan Guha's to study mechanisms of radiation injuries to normal tissue and endothelium, and develop therapeutic strategies to mitigate these injuries. We are using pharmacological and genetic approaches to define the role of vascular niche in radiation injury and recovery. These studies will explore various approaches such as flow cytometry, confocal imaging, lineage tracing, qRT-PCR, western blot, ELISA, metabolomics, SCPECT CT, and MRI to measure organ dysfunction in response to radiation.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmacology or biophysics and is expected to have hands-on experience in animal models, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy techniques, and basic cell and molecular biology techniques. Experience with radiation injury in mouse model is highly desirable. The postdoctoral candidate will develop research plans with the help of senior experienced researcher, plan and conduct the experiments, analyze the data, and create reports for scientific publications. The candidate will work in a highly translational and collaborative environment which will allow her/him to develop more skills and expertise in the field. Successful candidate should exhibit strong productivity and publication record.
Please send CV with names of three references and a statement of research interests that discusses your particular fit within our research program to Dr. Chandan Guha, cguha@montefiore.org
