Assistant/Associate/Professor

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in Memphis, TN, is seeking outstanding applicants for two twelve-month full-time, tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate or full professor level. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to maintain competitive extramural funding, a commitment to excellence in teaching in Pharm.D. and graduate programs, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

The successful candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

The successful candidates are expected to have strong NIH funded (NIH R01 grant/s or similar equivalents) research programs in an area related to the research strengths of the department, included but not limited to pharmacology, PK/PD, drug discovery and development, medicinal chemistry, physiology, electrophysiology, drug delivery,  or other related disciplines with the overarching goal to develop novel therapeutics for unmet medical needs.

Part of the University of Tennessee System, the Health Science Center is headquartered in Memphis and includes all six of UT’s doctoral-degree-granting health science colleges -- Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Graduate Health Sciences, and Health Professions. UTHSC spans the state with its four major, regional clinical health science locations in Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Nashville, as well as more than 100 clinical education sites across Tennessee. 

UTHSC is the largest educator of health care professionals in the state and operates the state’s largest residency and fellowship advanced training programs.
