The Analytical Development & Quality Control Biochemistry group, located in Basel, is an integral component of how we innovate healthcare through the invention of differentiated medicines for treating diseases of current unmet medical need. This internship program integrates seamlessly into European-based University degree program and therefore we offer the most hardworking students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience with us.
 

During the internship your tasks will include:

  • Investigate the potential roles of slope spectroscopy (SoloVPE) in surfactants/detergents concentration determination.
  • Support the implementation of slope spectroscopy in protein concentration determination.
  • Comprehensive documentation of performed experiments and developed methods
  • Becoming an integral part of the team supporting its mission of technical development of therapeutic candidates
  • Gain initial insight into a nonGMP/GMP working/laboratory environment

Who you are:

You are an enrolled student within biology, bio-(analytical) chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or related fields. You are motivated to increase and share your theoretical and practical knowledge on the emerging and exciting field of slope spectroscopy You are an enthusiast of new technologies and you easily show engagement with people. Basic knowledge of (UV) spectroscopy and experiences in biomolecule sample preparation in general are welcome.
 

Moreover, you are/have:

  • Enrolled in Bachelor or Master program at a university
  • Highly self-motivated and science driven
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Dedicated mentality

When does it start?
The preferred start date of the internship is September 2019 or upon availability for 6 months. Please clearly indicate your preferred starting date and duration of the internship on your motivation letter.
