The Department of Pharmacology at Columbia University in the City of New York is seeking candidates for tenured/tenure-track faculty positions. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellence in research. The faculty appointment will be in the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons (VP&S) of Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) and Columbia University (CU).

The Department of Pharmacology is launching a major recruitment initiative under the leadership of its new chairperson, Dr. Cory Abate-Shen. Research areas span a wide range of interests in pharmacology as broadly defined, including chemical biology, pharmacogenomics, cellular metabolism, metabolomics, drug discovery and systems biology, as applied to cancer pharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, and neuropharmacology.  Candidates should have demonstrated a high level of productivity in their field of interest and the ability to secure external funding. They will be expected to develop an internationally recognized extramurally funded research program, and be committed to the education mission of the Department.

Successful candidates will have a laboratory in newly renovated space at CUIMC. Faculty in the Department of Pharmacology are associated with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, hold membership in numerous Institutes and Centers such as the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Motor Neuron Center, and have the opportunity to interact with faculty at Columbia University Morningside Campus.
