Postdoctoral Fellow in Cell and Molecular Biology (Oncology & Non-coding RNA Research
A postdoctoral fellow position is open immediately in Dr. Ranjan J. Perera’s laboratory at the Department of Oncology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Center for RNA Biology, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. The Perera laboratory is employing a combination of biochemical, genetic, genomic and functional genomic approaches to study the biogenesis mechanism of regulatory non-coding RNAs, and to elucidate their function in tumor formation. Several putative oncogenic and tumor suppressor non-coding RNAs have been identified ( Lee et al. Science Advances 2017 3(5): e1602505, Mazar et al. Mol. Cell. Biol. 2016, Wei et al., JID 2016) and will characterize these through in-vitro and in-vivo functional and analytical genomics and single cell sequencing assays to connect them to cancer metabolism and epigenome.
The Ph.D. and/or M.D. Cancer Cell Biology candidate must have a strong background in at least one of the following areas: tumor biology, cell biology, molecular biology, transcriptional/post-transcriptional gene regulation. Experience in vivo mouse studies is an advantage. Perera laboratory will be a part of the Center for RNA Biology in the new research institute at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.
