The Role:

Moderna is seeking a skilled, talented and motivated research associate for a position based at their Cambridge, MA site. The individual will participate in the synthesis of research scale material and its analysis in support of Moderna's mRNA platform.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Synthesize mRNA at difference scales for research experiments
  • General laboratory assistance including lab equipment maintenance, preparation of analytical samples, buffers, and reagents, and the ordering and receiving of lab supplies
  • Perform analyses using various types of instrumentation (HPLC, MS)
  • Perform research to support new assays and process improvements
  • Document experiments thoroughly
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab bench
  • Maintain equipment and instruments
  • Present research and updates at group meetings
  • Closely collaborate with members of the In Vitro Biology, Molecular Biology and Chemistry
  • Accountable for experimental design and results delivery

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
  • BS with 0-2 years of industry experience (chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related science)
  • Laboratory experience operating basic laboratory equipment, in-vitro transcription, gel electrophoresis, HPLC, mass spectrometry
  • Experience with biochemical assay testing, development, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative skills, attentive to detail, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment
  • The candidate will be curious in exploring new path for drug discovery, bold in proposing creative experimental designs and ideas. Will work collaboratively with multifunctional teams and will be relentless in pursuing successful outcomes
  • Ability to multi-task to meet timelines and development goals
