Physician-Scientist in Autophagy-related Research
Department of Pathology, University of California San Francisco


The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco seeks outstanding physician-scientists for a full-time tenure-track (Ladder Rank) or In-Residence faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. The successful candidate will direct an independent basic or translational research program focused on human disease, including neurobiology, cancer biology, immunobiology and developmental and stem cell biology. A research focus in autophagy and autophagy-related mechanisms is highly desirable. Additional duties will include departmental and university teaching for graduate students, medical students, house-staff and fellows, and clinical service commensurate with the individual's qualifications and interests. S/he will have a track record of innovative accomplishment in basic/translational research and an interest in working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The candidate will have or seek to develop a robust portfolio of extramural grant support. He/she will be proposed for membership in the Biomedical Science (BMS) Graduate Program.

The successful candidate must possess an MD or MD/PhD, be Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic or Clinical Pathology at the time of appointment, and be eligible for a medical license in California at the time of appointment. Salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and training.
