TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION in NEUROSCIENCE
The Department of Neurobiology & Anatomy at the University of Utah (http://www.neuro.utah.edu/) is seeking an outstanding scientist for a tenure track faculty position, with a focus on addressing mechanisms of brain disease. The department is vibrant and growing, with an emphasis on collegiality and collaboration. Areas of expertise in the department range from neurogenetics and developmental biology to circuit neuroscience and behavior. The department is part of a campus-wide neuroscience community, and is involved in a strategic initiative to further develop neuroscience at the University of Utah (https://uofuhealth.utah.edu/neuroscience-initiative/).
For this recruitment, we are interested in candidates who are using multidisciplinary approaches to understand brain disease, with a particular focus on neurodegeneration and disorders associated with aging. Approaches may include combinations of advanced neurotechnologies, genetic analysis in model organisms, dissection of molecular and biochemical mechanisms, investigation of genetic risk factors, or studies on the glial contributions to disease.
Individuals must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., or equivalent degrees at any rank, with at least two or more years of postdoctoral experience. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in research with strong potential for securing and sustaining independent extramural funding.
