The Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (Jacobs School) at The State University of New York at Buffalo (University at Buffalo, UB) seeks a new Professor and Chair for the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. Building on the Department’s existing strengths, the Chair is expected to provide the scientific vision and academic leadership that will bring the Department to the next level of excellence. Appropriate resources, including new faculty lines and start-up packages, are available to implement this growth. Faculty lines are twelve month/year state-supported positions.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:  The successful candidate will have:

• A PhD, MD or equivalent degree
• A well-funded and internationally recognized program of research in the broadly defined area of Physiology
• Outstanding leadership and significant administrative skills to oversee the Department and its teaching programs, to define its scientific vision and overall direction, and to be a public advocate for the Department in the School, the University, and the Western New York region.
