About City of Hope
City of Hope, an innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution with over 6000 employees, is dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases and guided by a compassionate, patient-centered philosophy.

Founded in 1913 and headquartered in Duarte, California, City of Hope is a remarkable non-profit institution, where compassion and advanced care go hand-in-hand with excellence in clinical and scientific research. City of Hope is a National Cancer Institute designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, an alliance of the nation's leading cancer centers that develops and institutes standards of care for cancer treatment.

Position Summary
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Qiong (Annabel) Wang, https://www.cityofhope.org/qiong-wang , in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology at the City of Hope Beckman Research Institute. The Wang laboratory utilizes the cutting-edge tissue-specific, inducible knockout and lineage tracing mouse models to study the region-specific remodeling of adipose tissue, both in physiological and pathological conditions, such as insulin resistance, obesity, and cancer. Dr. Wang has previously generated the AdipoChaser mice model and tracked adipogenesis during adipose tissue development and remodeling (Wang QA, et al. Nature Medicine, 2013). Dr. Wang's aother research revealed the surprising diversity of transcriptional signals required at different stages of adipogenesis in vivo (Wang QA, et al. Nature Cell Biology, 2015). The Wang lab is currently working on two projects: 1) Brown adipose tissue heterogeneity, and how this heterogeneity remodels the thermogenic capacity of brown adipocytes in health and disease. 2) White adipose tissue remodeling in the mammary gland during reproduction, and how this remodeling contributes to whole body metabolic disorders and breast cancer (Wang QA, et al. Cell Metabolism, 2018).

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow interested in studying the cellular and metabolic mechanisms leading to obesity, diabetes and cancer. The position requires extensive experience in molecular biology and rodent models.
