Postdoctoral Position in Bioinformatics and Neurogenetics

The Zhang lab at the University of Chicago is looking for a highly motivated postdoc fellow in bioinformatics and neurogenetics. The newly established group focuses on the fundamental mechanisms of brain development with the ultimate goal of diagnosing and treating neurological diseases. We have shown that alternative RNA splicing is prevalent in cortical neurogenesis and required for human brain development. Current research centers on molecular and cellular diversity in the developing brain, and their change over time and under disease conditions.

The successful applicant will lead single-cell and genomics projects, work with team members trained in genomics/neurodevelopmental biology/RNA biology, and interact with exceptional faculties in human genetics, biostatistics and computation biology. We are located in the Cummings Life Science Center with direct access to genomics and computation facilities. This position offers /excellent career development opportunities in neurogenetics and bioinformatics.

Job Requirements:

• Recent PhD or MD/PhD with established track record in biomedical research such as bioinformatics, biostatistics and neuroscience.
• Expertise with genetics and genomics data analysis is preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
