Senior Scientific Researcher

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Biologist to join a lab within the Early Discovery Biochemistry Department. The successful candidate will be engaged in a wide range of research projects in protein and peptide (bio)chemistry to explore and develop new drug modalities to advance our drug discovery pipeline. The position offers a unique opportunity to combine both, applied as well as basic research and is highly suited for candidates that have a strong interest in both of these aspects. Candidates with experiences in synthetic chemistry coupled with research interests in protein structure-function studies, with a particular emphasis on therapeutic target validation are highly encouraged to apply. Projects will involve collaborative interactions in a multidisciplinary group and across diverse areas ranging from oncology to infectious disease. The position requires critical thinking, flexibility, multitasking, and the ability to learn new techniques.


Who You Are

  • PhD in chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry or related field with a strong publication record in relevant journals.
  • Five or more years of technical experience in the field of chemical biology focusing on protein/peptide chemistry.
  • Candidates with prior experience in combinatorial chemistry and macrocycles are preferred.
  • The candidate is expected to be highly motivated, work independently in a collaborative team-oriented setting and to have a strong ability to tackle interdisciplinary problems as well as strong communication skills.
