JOB SUMMARY:

This is a high level Research Scientist position for a molecular geneticist, which requires a Ph.D. degree with a record of productivity and skills in high throughput DNA and RNA sequencing and CRISPR technology.
JOB DUTIES:

35% - Essential - DNA and RNA extraction and preparation of libraries for next generation high throughput sequencing using Illumina platforms, in house sequencing.

35% - Essential - Standard molecular biology experiments, including cloning and PCR amplification of DNA, and advanced technologies using CRISPR-cas9 technology for gene editing, including allelic replacement, and gene deletion

15% - Essential - Provide technical advice and support for members of the Center for Human Genetics

10% - Essential - Data recording and standard statistical analyses

5% - Essential - Preparing data for publication, writing articles for publication and attending conferences to disseminate findings
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - Doctoral / Professional Degree

Experience w/advanced molecular biological technologies with a record of publications

Monitors Budget - Does not provide input but is responsible for monitoring the departmental budget and may oversee fund allocation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

WORK SCHEDULE:

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary: Commensurate with credentials and experience
