(Contract) Sr. Research Associate, RNA and Protein Characterization

The Role:

Moderna is seeking a Senior Research Associates based at their Cambridge, MA site. The individuals in this role will be a highly skilled, talented and motivated to focus on late phase drug development. He/she will participate in designing/performing highly complex Next Generation Sequencing experiments on mRNA, as well as development of novel ELISA based assays. The individual will work with other RAs and Scientists within the Analytical Development and across the Moderna ecosystem. The successful candidate must have a BS with at least 2 - 5 years of relative industry experience, or MS with 0 - 2 years of relevant industry experience in development (Analytical, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering or related science) and experience performing analytical, biochemical, molecular and biophysical methods.

Here's What You'll Do:

• Preparation of library for Illumina sequencing
• Performing next generation sequencing using various Illumina instruments (MiSeq, HiSeq and NextSeq)
• Development of ELISA based assays
• Development of branched DNA (bDNA) assays
• Accountable for project success and results delivery
• Record and communicate findings
• Presentation of results at internal meetings

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:

• BS degree with 2 - 5 years of relevant industry experience in a development setting (Analytical, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related science)
• MS degree with 0 - 2 years of relevant industry experience in a development setting (Analytical, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related science)
• Knowledge of Illumina library prep
• Knowledge of ELISA development
• Knowledge of bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing data is a plus but not required
• Knowledge of nucleic acid chemistry and biology and standard methods of analysis of these molecules.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively in a highly dynamic environment
