Faculty Position in Neuroscience—Alzheimer’s Disease

The Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience and Department of Neuroscience at the University of Rochester (https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/del-monte-neuroscience.aspx) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank whose research program offers innovative approaches to the study of Alzheimer’s Disease and related neurodegenerative dementias. As part of an ongoing expansion in Neuroscience across the University, we seek exceptional applicants to develop and grow outstanding research programs that focus on basic and translational questions related to disease propagation and neural dysfunction.  Areas of particular interest include tau biology, neuroinflammation and glial cell biology in animal models.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant, diverse community with interests spanning cellular, systems, and cognitive Neuroscience, and will contribute to teaching and mentoring at the graduate level.  PhD, MD-PhD, and MD applicants are encouraged to apply; for applicants pursuing part-time clinical activities, co-appointment in an appropriate clinical department is possible.

To apply, please provide a cover letter, CV, statement of research interests, PDFs of two or three recent publications, and contact information for three references. Applications may be submitted using the Neuroscience email address neurosci_dept@URMC.Rochester.edu.  Questions may be addressed to search co-chairs Kerry O’Banion (Kerry_OBanion@urmc.rochester.edu) and Julie Fudge (Julie_Fudge@urmc.rochester.edu). Review of applications will begin September 15, 2019.
