Assistant Professor - Biostatistics
The Department of Clinical and Translational Sciences at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine invites qualified applicants to apply for the following position: Full-time tenure-track faculty position in Biostatistics at the Assistant Professor level.
The primary responsibilities of this position are:
- To participate in research activities in the School of Medicine by directing the Biostatistics core facility in the Appalachian Center for Cellular Transport in Obesity, and by collaborating with Clinical and Basic Science faculty in the School of Medicine
- To participate in extra-mural funded projects as a major co-investigator or as principal investigator
- To teach biostatistics to medical students, residents, and graduate students
- To participate in School of Medicine and University service activities.
The successful candidate will be appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical and Translational Science, with the option of a secondary appointment in another department in the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. Salary will be commensurate with prior experience and skill.
A PhD in Biostatistics or closely related field At least two years’ postdoctoral experience in an academic medicine environment
A record of relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals
Experience teaching biostatistics.
Masters level experience in Public Health
Current extra-mural funding
Experience and familiarity with clinical trials
Experience working in a research core facility
