A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Division of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Utah School of Medicine to study the fetal impacts of in utero exposure to pathogens. The Fairfax lab is located on the Medical campus of the University of Utah and is a part of the interactive Immunology, Inflammation and Infectious Disease (3i) Initiative.
The successful postdoctoral fellow will contribute to projects understanding the epigenetic and
transcriptional regulation of immune modulation induced by Schistosoma Mansoni infection.
This is an NIH funded position on Maternal Schistosomiasis. Our laboratory uses state of the art approaches to interrogate how the parasite reprograms host immunity.
The successful fellow will be involved in the development of experimental design, data
collection, and analysis. The project will involve collaboration with colleagues at University of
Utah as well as those at other Universities.
Our lab culture is highly collaborative and in addition to leading their own project, the postdoctoral fellow will have opportunities to contribute to other team projects in lab and to develop and participate in external collaborations, as well as mentoring of students and junior lab members as part of career development.
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in immunology, molecular biology, or a relevant discipline
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of flowcytometry, confocal imaging, cell culture, and next generation sequencing are
preferred.
