Tenure Track Biology Assistant Professor (Developmental Biology)

The Lake Forest College Biology Department invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, starting August, 2020.  We are seeking a highly qualified biologist to teach an upper-level developmental biology course and our introductory organismal biology course with laboratories, and to add a seminar course in the applicant’s area of expertise. Postdoctoral experience is required and demonstrated excellence in teaching beyond traditional TA experience is strongly preferred. Successful candidates will demonstrate enthusiasm for liberal arts education. Candidates will be expected to develop an active undergraduate-led research program resulting in peer-reviewed publications and efforts to secure external funding.

Competitive start-up funds, support for undergraduate researchers, federally-funded faculty, and a new science building including a research-grade greenhouse, tissue culture lab, and aquatic and terrestrial vivaria make our institution thrive. Members of the Biology Department actively engage in interdisciplinary programs in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Environmental Studies, and Neuroscience.
