Job Details

San Diego Biomedical Research Institute (SDBRI) has an opportunity immediately available for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Laurent Verkoczy. The team of researchers in the Verkoczy lab are focused on immune responses to HIV antigens using mouse models. The successful candidate will be expected to work on various mouse models of human HIV responses and primarily be responsible for specific projects that contribute directly or indirectly to the laboratory mission of ultimately developing an HIV vaccine, while also partnering with other lab members and outside collaborators as needed.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. In the field of Immunology or Virology and at least two years of relevant Postdoctoral experience. Candidates must also possess a strong practical knowledge of molecular genetics techniques, as wells as common immune assays like ELISA, flow cytometry, etc. Prior experience with animal handling is required. Prior experience with HIV vaccine research is desirable, as well as strong communication skills, especially writing scientific papers.
