The Department of Biology at the University of Louisville (http://louisville.edu/biology) invites applications for two tenure-track positions (quantitative biology and cell biology) at the Assistant Professor level to begin July 1, 2020. We are seeking early-stage or recently established investigators with strong records of research accomplishment who will complement and expand departmental research interests and actively advise, mentor, and guide undergraduate and PhD students.
QUANTITATIVE ECOLOGIST OR EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGIST -- We seek broadly trained applicants who address fundamental questions in ecology or evolution using classical and modern statistical or modeling techniques. Post-doctoral experience is required. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an externally funded research program and to contribute to the department's teaching mission in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Primary teaching duties will include undergraduate and graduate Biostatistics courses, along with additional courses in our core biology curriculum.
CELL BIOLOGIST/PHYSIOLOGIST -- The search is open to applicants in many areas of cellular-level research including, but not limited to, the molecular mechanisms of metabolism and signaling, redox signaling and mitochondrial function, neurobiology, cancer biology, aging, and membrane transport. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an externally funded research program and to contribute to the department's teaching mission in both our undergraduate core and the graduate program. Primary teaching duties will include an undergraduate/graduate Cell Biology course with additional courses in an area of specialization within the biology curriculum, for example histology, neurobiology, molecular cell physiology, or cancer biology.
Applicants should complete the online application https://louisville.edu/hr/jobs/currentopenings , which requires submitting the following items combined into a single PDF document: cover letter; curriculum vitae; statements of research interests, teaching philosophy, and commitment to diversity; and contact information for three references.
