Assistant or Associate Professor, Term Tenure-Track
The Department of Immunology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking exceptional candidates for a term tenure-track faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. Our search is focused on excellent basic science researchers with an interest in fundamental questions in immunology. Current faculty of the Department study diverse aspects of immune system functions, including T cell activation and tolerance, innate immunity and inflammation, dendritic cell biology, immune receptor signaling, tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy, and immune cell dynamics in tumor microenvironments. Individuals with a strong track record and continued interest in pursuit of new insight into immune system function are highly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will demonstrate a record of high-level publications and evidence of, or potential for, peer-reviewed research funding.
This position will be supported by generous start-up packages and may also be eligible for recruitment awards from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) and the University of Texas System. The new faculty member will enjoy the highly collegial and interactive environment both within the Department of Immunology and among the basic science and clinical departments at MD Anderson. State-of-the-art core facilities and research resources are available in the Institution under the support of a Core Grant from the National Cancer Institute. In addition, the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center is located in the Texas Medical Center (TMC), with a wealth of exciting basic and clinical research across 54 institutions featuring dynamic cross-institutional collaboration and shared facilities. Immunologists at the TMC have a long history of scientific interactions and are in the process of establishing a multi-institutional immunology program, The TMC Immunology Consortium, to provide additional interaction opportunities for faculty and trainees.
