The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zurich invites applications for the following academic position (starting at the earliest date possible)

Assistant Professorship for Translational Oncology (non-tenure track), including clinical activity

The assistant professorship is located at the University Hospital of Zurich in the department of Medical Oncology and Hematology (MOH).

The assistant professor will be responsible for managing his or her own research program on a clinical or preclinical-translational level. Additional responsibilities are the promotion of clinical and translational research within the department, teaching on all levels of the curriculum as well as participation in postgraduate education and participation in the clinical care of oncological patients (senior physician level).

Applicants are required to have a Habilitation or equivalent degree. They are expected to have an outstanding, internationally recognized record of accomplishment as researchers and expertise in acquiring competitive grants.

Advanced or completed training in medical oncology (physician scientist) is also essential.

We seek applicants with a genuine interest to establish and maintain interdisciplinary research collaborations and we expect strong interest for modern teaching methods and for promotion of junior scientists in their academic career. Key personality traits are excellent social skills and an open, integrative personality.

Advanced spoken level of the German language is expected or should be acquired after starting in this position to grant optimal communication with patients.
