A.T. Still University (ATSU) is a culturally rich environment leading the way in whole-person health education with cutting edge technology and instruction. From its inception in 1892, ATSU has had a long tradition of inclusion.  By capitalizing on local, regional, national and global community relationships, ATSU has mastered the concept of access and opportunity for culturally proficient faculty and administrators to explore their career interests and enrich the ATSU community as we reflect the communities we serve.

The grant-funded data informatics specialist will report directly to the Project Director for the HRSA-funded Pathways to Primary Care Behavioral Health Integration in the Nation’s Health Centers project. The data/informatics specialist will actively contribute ideas and seek ways to collaboratively improve processes, systems, and tools to enhance data management for the project team and the involved parties [i.e., CHC partner sites (leadership, providers, faculty)/ATSU faculty/ATSU trainees in relation to the grant]. S/he will demonstrate strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in order to coordinate leaders, faculty, and trainees at multiple remote locations, and serve as a liaison between all parties. S/he will help identify and recommend solutions for addressing faculty/trainee/provider knowledge/skill gaps, particularly in design of Integration Scholar projects and collection systems that comply with Health Center policies, regulations, and the law.

The responsibilities of the data informatics specialist will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Provide direct input as Integration Scholars and Health Center/ATSU faculty or providers develop, conduct and evaluate community-based, scholarly activity relating to integration, opioid/substance use disorder/addiction, trainee/provider wellness, community oriented primary care or quality improvement projects.
  • Work with PCTE-IBHPC team to develop and implement evaluation and assess outcomes.
  • Conduct data analysis on small and large data sets.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations relating to/based upon curricular gap analysis.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations of Health Centers and related to integration, OUD/SUD/addiction/pain management, and provider/trainee wellness.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary as the project evolves.
  • Work with team, write papers, create presentations and disseminate scholarly work.
  • Conduct data analysis for projects, grants and  other programs as opportunities are presented and as directed  by the PCTE-IBHPC Program Director.
  • Meet with PCTE program director, Deputy Director and post-award project manager on a weekly basis.

Successful candidates must be self-starters who possess a master's degree in healthcare informatics, public health, health care administration, health care management, or related field and demonstrate the skills and attitudes needed to methodically blend the application of information management with legal and ethical competencies. Strong data analysis skills and research skills required.

This position is grant-funded, with HRSA support anticipated through June 30, 2024.
