The Department of Neuroscience at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking outstanding candidates with dynamic research programs in Neurobiology of Disease and Aging.

The candidates are expected to have a track record of major contributions to the field, with an emphasis on the application of novel in vitro and in vivo imaging tools, disease modeling using animal models and induced pluripotent stem cells, the use of systems level analytical, computational, and bioinformatics approaches, mass spectrometry-based proteomics, machine learning/AI, or the integration of multiple discovery platforms to advance our understanding of disease biology and etiology. Although all areas of neurodegenerative disease and aging research will be considered, we are in particular seeking candidates who have primary interests in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, synaptic biology, innate immunity, neurovascular biology, and brain aging as it relates to neurobiology of disease. The candidates are expected to have a history of extramural funding, high impact publication, as well as a proven record of collaborative team science endeavors. Individuals with interest and experience in research training and graduate-level education are particularly encouraged to apply..

The vision of the department is to promote the highest quality, team-based, nationally ranked neuroscience research programs and to translate neuroscience discovery to improved care for patients with neurological diseases. Scientists within the neuroscience department have strong expertise in neurogenetics, neuropathology, disease modeling, immunity, and experimental therapeutics
