Tenure-track Faculty Position in Eukaryotic Genetics/Genomics

Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Biology to begin in Fall 2020.  The successful candidate will be a scholar and educator in the field of eukaryotic genetics/genomics, broadly interpreted, and will bring diverse skills, talents, and experience to the Biology program.  The successful candidate will establish a vigorous, externally funded research program that will meaningfully include undergraduates.  The candidate also will contribute courses at all levels of the curriculum and will work with undergraduate students from diverse racial, gender, socio-economic, geographic, academic and social backgrounds.

Haverford College, located four miles from Philadelphia, offers a competitive startup package, excellent research support, and a generous sabbatical leave policy, as well as class sizes that support close student-faculty interactions.  At Haverford, all students complete a capstone thesis project based on original research and teaching credit is awarded for mentoring students through the senior research process. 

A Ph.D. in Biology or a related field and the demonstrated ability to mount a successful, independent research program through post-doctoral experience are required.  Candidates are asked to submit the following documents via Interfolio [https://apply.interfolio.com/65618]:

a one-page cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a Research Statement (two-three pages) describing proposed research projects, a Teaching Statement (two-three pages), and three confidential letters of reference.
