We seek an internationally visible researcher with an excellent record of accomplishment in a contemporary field of experimental material oriented physical chemistry to strengthen the university-wide strategic research focus on energy conversion and storage. The research emphasis should be preferably on surface chemistry using methods with a high degree of spatial / temporal or frequency resolution. The candidate is expected to strengthen the existing interdisciplinary research activities of Ulm University especially within the cluster of excellence Post Lithium Storage (POLiS) and the collaborative research center CataLight, but also with respect to the inter-university platform CELEST (Ulm-Karlsruhe), the Helmholtz Institute Ulm Electrochemical Energy Storage (HIU) and the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research of Baden-Wuerttemberg (ZSW).

Teaching responsibilities cover the full spectrum of physical chemistry in the teaching programs of chemistry. In addition, active participation in export teaching programs will be expected. Ready engagement in the academic self-governance is a necessity.

Employment requirements are completed university studies as well as teaching aptitude, a doctoral degree and further pertinent scientific achievements (§ 47 LHG).
