Job Details
Perform and provide supervision, training to technical personnel and/or highly technical work in basic research projects. Impacts laboratory research techniques and procedures.
** The ideal candidate will have experience with brain tumors using mouse models**
Key Functions:
* Exercises considerable imagination, initiative and inventiveness in planning
and executing the details of experiments and in evaluating and interpreting the
results. The experiments involve determining the mechanisms of neuropathic
pain using mouse models and biochemical methods.

* Oversees lab equipment and supplies and maintains inventory necessary to
complete projects and experiments as assigned.
* Maintains high level of knowledge regarding equipment, procedures and
safety.
* Supervises and collaborates with lab members in their work and assists them

* Carry out lab duties that include purchasing, organization and lab safety.
* Responsible for major participation in the development and revision of
techniques, assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
* Collaborates or assists with supervisor and senior research staff with
preparation of reports and grant requests.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.
Preferred: Experience with mouse models.
