Job Details
The primary purpose of the Supv. Mid-Level Provider is to supervise, plan and coordinate a clinical mid-level provider (MLP) team for the Regional Care Centers. Impacts the clinical MLP teams in the Department to include overall operations, namely staffing, operational planning, quality assurance and administration of activities and personnel that impact inpatient and/or outpatient clinical operations. . This position will devote a minimum of 50% effort to direct patient care according to the Advanced Practice Nurse's or Physician Assistant's State of Texas clinical license. Travel between Regional Care Centers is required.

Analytical Thinking Administratively supervises MLP staff and operations
Clinical Patient Care Provides quality patient care in relation to the patient's prescribed diagnosis, treatment, age group, development and other identified needs. Performs patient assessment, writing progress notes and/or orders which are accurate, clear, legible and complete according to the standards set by Medical Records. Consistently monitors notes and lab values as part of assessment. Communicates, in a timely fashion, all physical findings and other pertinent information regarding the patient to medical staff. Notifies other health care professionals (e.g. speech pathology or radiology) regarding required interventions, as indicated by medical staff.
Discovery Behaviors Personal Leadership/Self-Initiative: Helps others to identify and solve problems; Seeks personal growth and enables others to do so-Leads by example- Actively encourages others to contribute ideas
Accountability Promotes and adheres to MD Anderson's Standards of Conduct (mandatory). Adheres to attendance policy by timely reporting to work and returning from breaks. Demonstrates ethical and personal responsibility in work and behavior. Holds self and others accountable for practicing our values.
EDUCATION:
Required: Degree requirements as defined by the Texas State Board Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) or Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners (TSBNE), as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two years of experience as an advanced practice provider.
Preferred: None
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Required: Current license and/or certification as defined by the (TSBPAE) or (TSBNE) as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Preferred: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.
