Business Innovation Associate (m/f/d) (fulltime, 40h per week)

c-LEcta is a leading industrial biotechnology company that applies best-in-class technologies to effi ciently provide

customized enzymes and microbial strains for industrial applications. The company covers the value chain from product

development to commercial production of high-value biotech products, with a key focus on regulated markets.

We are looking for a

Business Innovation Associate (m/f/d)

to strengthen its Business Development team. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible to support c-LEcta’s activities to identify and to develop new business opportunities for the company. Ideally you have gained already some experience in markets relevant for industrial biotechnology applications, especially the food sector. You should be fully equipped to investigate and assess data that is needed to judge the overall potential of an innovation in terms of market related criteria, and to establish open innovation contacts. You will be actively supported by a young and dynamic team in a friendly working atmosphere as well as the dynamic company growth comes along with excellent career opportunities.

This assignment will receive funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program H2020-INNOSUP-2019-02 and is going to be supported through a specifi c training programme, which will comprise a core training programme on industrial

innovation and business management as well as additional tailored courses according to your personal development plans and the career opportunities at c-LEcta. Your assignment will be fi rst fi xed to 12 months, with our clear intention to provide you with a permanent contract afterwards.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Desk research for competitive business intelligence especially into industrial biotechnology targets and R&D

developments by researching industry and literature

• Identifying, monitoring and valuation of new target compounds and applications

• Identifi cation and initiation of innovation opportunities with prospective industry partners

• Preparation of market potential analyses, incl. preliminary FTO analyses

• The position reports to the Senior Business Development Management of the company and will strongly

interface with the R&D and other departments

Required Skills:

• Academic Degree (PhD) in Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, Food Science or comparable education and

experience

• International mobility before starting work at c-LEcta*

• A pro-active, ambitious self-starter who can operate both independently and as part of a team, positive,

optimistic, fl exible and creative problem-solving attitude

• Effi cient in collecting, analyzing, reporting information and sharing knowledge

• Excellent presentation and communication skills

• Excellent in written and verbal English and German

• Willingness to travel occasionally

* At the time of your assignment, you have ideally (but not mandatory) not been living or working in Germany for no more than 12 months since 09/2016. Compulsory national service and/or short stays such as holidays are not considered.
