CSHL Fellow in Neuroscience

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking outstanding nominees for a CSHL Fellow position in Neuroscience as part of the long-running and highly successful CSHL Fellows Program (see https://www.cshl.edu/research/fellows-programs-at-cshl/cshl-fellows-program/#apply). The CSHL Fellow position is an independent research position designed for exceptional biologists who have recently received a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, and who are sufficiently talented and experienced to forgo standard postdoctoral training.  CSHL Fellows are expected to establish their own research programs and develop collaborations both within and outside CSHL while receiving oversight and mentorship from a senior CSHL faculty member. CSHL Fellows are provided with a salary, start-up funds, office space for themselves and one staff person, as well as access to the general resources available for research at CSHL. Appointments are generally awarded for a period of three years.

The ideal candidate has a strong record of achievement and is capable of directing an innovative program in basic neuroscience research. We will consider applicants working in any area of neuroscience to expand and synergize with our existing strengths in neural circuits, rodent cognition, perception, and social behavior, neural development, neurogenetics, theoretical and computational neuroscience, synaptic function, and brain disorders. Applications from women and underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged. CSHL is dedicated to building and maintaining a diverse work environment.

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is a world-renowned research and educational institution with programs in cancer, neuroscience, plant biology, genomics, quantitative biology, and bioinformatics. Located on the North Shore of Long Island 30 miles from New York City, the Laboratory has a rich and successful research environment, as well as an innovative graduate school, the Watson School of Biological Sciences.

Graduate student advisors are encouraged to make nominations during the student’s final year of graduate studies, or graduate students may apply directly by sending a letter of introduction, along with curriculum vitae and the names of four individuals who can provide letters of recommendation. Nominations and applications are accepted throughout the year and should be sent to: fellows@cshl.edu.

CSHL is an EO/AA Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or protected veteran status.
