The Department of Genetic Medicine and Development (GEDEV) at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva, Switzerland, seeks outstanding candidates for an application to a SNF Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship.
GEDEV (www.unige.ch/medecine/gede/en/home/) has excellent links to the nearby University Hospital and has world leading expertise in Genetics, Epigenetics, Developmental Biology, Genomics, Cancer and Cell Plasticity, We are looking for applicants with strong potential for synergies with one or several of these research areas.
Eccellenza fellowship is awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation with the backing of a Swiss Institution and are aimed at early researchers who have a doctorate or equivalent qualification willing to pursue an academic career. The grant covers project funds for up to 1 million CHF for five years in addition to the applicant’s salary (see www.snf.ch/en/funding/careers/eccellenza/Pages/default.aspx). The Faculty of Medicine will complement the offer with one full-time collaborator (at the graduate student or postdoc level).
The applicant must have a proven record of at least 2 years' research activity at a Swiss higher education institution, be Swiss nationals or have a Swiss higher education degree. The successful candidate will hold a non-tenure track assistant professor position at the Faculty of Medicine. Evaluations for promotion take place at the end of the grant period.
