Postdoctoral position available

We are looking for a smart, motivated and ambitious scientist to join the Perna lab at the new Brown Center of Immunotherapy, led and supported by the Indiana School of Medicine in Indianapolis, USA.

The overall goal of the Perna lab is to develop precision immuno-therapies for patients with hematologic malignancies. The highly competitive research plan will be achieved via solid and largely supported projects involving the use of primary patient samples, human and mouse models of hematologic malignancies and cutting-edge technologies. By using sophisticated proteomic and genomic approaches for the identification of immunotherapeutic targets (Perna F et al Cancer Cell 2017), the lab investigates the molecular mechanisms underpinning leukemogenesis and develops innovative therapeutics. To this purpose we will closely work with the Vector Production Facility that is the NIH/NHLBI National Gene Vector Biorepository. The Perna lab has a strong interest and expertise in translational cancer research and immunotherapy, with several strong collaborations at major international institutions worldwide.

Basic Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has previous laboratory research experience (minimum 3 years) with a Ph.D. (or about to graduate) in Health Sciences or closely related field. Expertise in biochemistry, proteomics, cell culture and/or immunology is appropriate to the research plan of the lab. Basic knowledge of bioinformatics is a plus. We will work in a very dynamic and collaborative environment. Women and candidates willing to work in a cohesive team are encouraged to apply.
