Postdoctoral Position On Microbiome Research

at The Forsyth Institute

The Forsyth Institute is a Harvard-affiliated research institute located in the vibrant Kendall Square area of Cambridge, with cutting-edge research programs in microbiology, immunology and tooth/bone biology. 

Postdoctoral position available in Drs. Xuesong He / Wenyuan Shi laboratory for highly motivated candidates who are interested in human oral microbiome and microbial-host interaction. The lab currently has multiple active NIH-funded research projects to use multidisciplinary approaches to study oral microbiome with a specific focus on microbial pathogenesis, inter-species interaction and signal transduction.  We are also actively involved in developing next generation of diagnostic and therapeutic tools against oral microbial infections. The successful candidate will have the choices to work on various projects related to human oral microbiome.

Our lab has successful track record in training postdocs, many former trainees became successful faculty members as well as entrepreneurs and business managers.

Requirements

Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in microbiology and/or immunology with strong experience in microbiology and microbial-host interaction, evident by peer-reviewed publication in reputable journals. Prior research experience in microbial-host interaction, small RNA research, bioinformatics and/or animal study will be a plus.
